Spread Foundations come in three types:

Soil

Soil Types:

Loose: Gravel/Sands/Coarse Grain Soils

Low Proportion of void between particles.
Slightly compressable
Permeable(allowing liquids to pass through)
Compression occurs quickly
Little variation in volume when moisture is added

Dense:Silts/Clays/Fine Grain Soils

High proportion of voids between particles
Highly compressable
Almost impermeable
Compression occurs slowly
Considerable change in volume when moisture is added (especially with certain calys)
